Students Enjoy Live Performance at CBSO’s Schools Concert

Year 7 and year 8 students at Shireland CBSO Academy had the incredible opportunity to attend the CBSO Schools Concerts at the iconic Symphony Hall in Birmingham. This memorable experience allowed them to witness professional musicians perform up close, as they sat right behind the orchestra.

The concert showcased the exceptional talents of the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra’s (CBSO) musicians, providing an engaging and inspiring atmosphere that captivated the young audience. Attending the live performance fostered a deeper understanding of orchestral music and highlighted the dedication required for such artistry. Students were not only entertained but also motivated to explore their own musical potential.

This event strengthened the partnership between Shireland CBSO Academy and the CBSO, reinforcing the collaborative spirit that benefits both the students and the orchestra.

David Green, Principal at Shireland CBSO Academy, emphasised the importance of such experiences in education, stating: “Live experiences like this concert are invaluable for our students. They offer a unique chance to connect with music beyond the classroom, enhancing their understanding of musical concepts while inspiring creativity.

“Exposure to professional performances such as this enriches their understanding and appreciation for the Arts on a deeper level, inspiring their creativity and empowering them to explore their own musical potential. “

Shireland CBSO Academy remains committed to providing enriching educational experiences, and the success of this concert highlighted the importance of these collaborations. The Academy looks forward to future opportunities with the CBSO, ensuring students continue to benefit from invaluable experiences that support their musical education and personal growth.
