Shireland CBSO Academy is proud of its music and creative arts specialism, but first and foremost, we are a normal secondary school. We deliver the full National Curriculum, which includes physical education as a key part of our students’ learning experience.
Although our specialism sets us apart, sport is very much part of school life. Our students take part in a full PE curriculum and benefit from access to brand new, purpose-built facilities, including sports hall, activity studio and outdoor multi-use games area (MUGA).
These dedicated sports spaces are located on Providence Place in West Bromwich, just a short walk from the main academy building. Students are always escorted by staff when travelling to and from the site, always ensuring their safety and supervision.
Our facilities include a fully equipped sports hall and other spaces designed for a wide variety of physical activities. These are used during curriculum PE lessons and for after-school sports and clubs.
Visitors can usually see these facilities during our open events held in September, which are for families applying for year 7 entry the following year. We also run sixth form open events throughout the academic year, which include further information about sport and enrichment opportunities.
