STUDENTS AND Families
Uniform
The Academy has a simple and smart uniform which we expect all students to wear.
Our full uniform policy can be viewed on our Trust’s website.
- Blazer with Academy badge sewn onto pocket – to be worn at all times
- Academy tie with logo
- White blouse or shirt – must be tucked in
- Plain black smart trousers (no skinny trousers, jeggings, leggings or jeans), plain black pleated skirt (no tube skirts or jersey skirts) or plain black tailored shorts (no football shorts, jersey shorts, cycling shorts, black denim shorts or hotpants). Please note that no other style of trouser, skirt or short is permitted.
- Plain black polishable leather/leather look shoes, plain black leather/leather look ankle boots and ballet pumps are acceptable. Trainers, Crocs, Converse-style canvas trainers or sportswear-branded shoes are not acceptable.
- Students should bring a sensible and strong school bag to carry Academy device, planner and stationery.
- Tights should be plain black; socks should be white, grey or black.
- Plain black v-neck jumper with or without sleeves (optional) – but no cardigans. A jumper must not be worn instead of a blazer. All students must wear blazers.
- In adverse weather, a suitable coat can be worn over a blazer.
- Salwar Kameez and headscarves may be worn and should be plain in colour–
students are still required to wear the Academy blazer and white shirt and tie. - Turbans, Patkas and Kippahs may be worn and should be plain in colour.

- Tzitzits may be worn.
- Plain black polo/t shirt (optional academy logo)
- Long-sleeved top with academy logo
- Plain black tracksuit bottoms (no large, branded logos). Trouser bottoms must not be flared.
- Plain black shorts (optional)
- Black skort/skirt (optional)
- Trainers
- Long hair must be tied up and nose studs and earrings/ear studs removed
- No other jewellery is permitted other than one set of stud earrings and one nose
stud. Students will be required to remove these for practical lessons. - If the Academy considers that earrings present a health and safety risk, the student will be instructed to remove them.
- Long hair must be tied back for PE, practical Science and DT lessons (please provide students with a bobble).
- Acrylic nails and/or nail extensions are not allowed. Nail varnish is allowed on natural nails.
- If make up is to be worn, it must be natural and discrete
- Snoods, balaclavas, bandanas, hair scarves, baseball hats and bucket hats
- Fur boots
- Trainers (except when students have PE and attend wearing their PE kit)
- All jewellery other than one nose stud and stud earrings (KS3-4)
- PE trousers with stripes or large logo
- Leggings and cycle shorts
- Extreme haircuts are not permitted.
- False eyelashes are not permitted and will result in staff asking students to remove
them - Acrylic nails and/or nail extensions
If there is an issue with an item of uniform, regardless of reason students will be loaned the correct uniform for the day. If you are experiencing any difficulty with your child’s uniform, please contact the Academy.
Equipment
It is expected that students will bring their own set of equipment that they need to use in lessons each day.
- School bag that is large enough to carry an A4 folder.
- Pencil case containing:
- Black or blue pens (black pen must be used in exams)
- Pencil
- Ruler
- Rubber
- Green pen
- Red pen
- Pencil Sharpener
- Scientific Calculator
- Pencil crayons or felt pens
- Highlighter pens
- Glue stick
- Geometry set
- Scientific calculator (Casio model fx83GT is the preferred type that we use in school)
Uniform supplier
The majority of our plain uniform can be purchased at supermarkets and department stores. We have kept the amount of branded items to a minimum and branded uniform is available from CC Uniforms or Crested School Wear in West Bromwich.
Preloved Uniform
How to Obtain Preloved Uniform
Parents and carers can request a list of available preloved uniform items by contacting the school’s main reception. Items can be reserved and collected from reception at a convenient time. While there is no charge for these items, families are welcome to make a small voluntary donation, which will be used to support student opportunities within the school.
How to Donate Preloved Uniform
We encourage families to donate any clean, good-condition uniform items, including shoes and trainers, that their child has outgrown. These can be handed in at the main reception at any time during the school year.
