Shireland CBSO Academy was delighted to welcome Kazuki Yamada, Music Director of the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra (CBSO), for a special visit celebrating the Academy’s vibrant musical community.
During his visit, Yamada was impressed by the energy and dedication of the students, especially during a rehearsal with the Academy’s Music Aptitude programme. This experience offered a first hand glimpse into the passion and commitment that defines the Academy’s approach to music education.
The visit also reinforced the Academy’s strong partnership with CBSO and its mission to nurture young musical talent.
David Green, Principal of Shireland CBSO Academy, said: “It was a privilege to host Kazuki Yamada and an inspiring moment for our students. His passion for music is truly infectious, and having the chance to learn from a conductor of his calibre will be an experience that stays with them for years to come.
“Encounters like these do more than just excite our young musicians—they broaden their horizons, show them what is possible in the world of professional music, and ignite their aspirations. Our partnership with the CBSO continues to open doors, providing students with invaluable opportunities to engage with world-class musicians, develop their skills, and deepen their love for music.”
Shireland CBSO Academy is committed to delivering exceptional musical opportunities and fostering a lifelong love of music. The Academy extends its heartfelt thanks to Kazuki Yamada for his visit and looks forward to further collaboration with the CBSO in the future.
