Year 12 Students Explore Careers With The Royal Navy

Year 12 students at Shireland CBSO Academy and Shireland Biomedical UTC had the unique opportunity to meet and engage with Royal Navy CPO (CA2) John Newman, who provided a detailed overview of the diverse roles available within the Royal Navy.

Sharing his personal journey and experiences in service, Newman discussed various educational pathways, including university and apprenticeship opportunities, highlighting the extensive support available for those interested in pursuing a career in the armed forces.

The session proved to be both engaging and insightful, as students posed a variety of thoughtful questions. This interaction allowed them to gain a deeper understanding of the skills and attributes required for different roles within the Royal Navy, encouraging them to reflect on their own strengths and aspirations.

Overall, this valuable experience offered students a clearer perspective on potential career paths within the Royal Navy, equipping them with the knowledge needed to make informed decisions about their futures. The Academy extends its sincere thanks to CPO Jon Newman for his time and for providing such an inspirational and informative session.
