SECTION 10 CONSULTATION
As part of the process of opening a Free School, the Department for Education requires a consultation under Section 10 of the Academies Act 2010.
A Section 10 consultation gives the local community and stakeholders the opportunity to comment on whether the school should enter into a funding agreement with the Department for Education to open the school. There may also be other questions posed relating to the school, enabling us to provide the best school possible for the borough of Sandwell.
The Section 10 consultation for Shireland CBSO Academy ran from Tuesday 3 May 2022 to Tuesday 14 June 2022.
We received a number of endorsements from key figures in the West Midlands and from the music sector in support of our original free school submission in 2018.
Please note this consultation is not related to any building or planning applications surrounding the new school; it is solely to consult on whether appropriate persons support the Trust to enter into a Funding Agreement with the Secretary of State for Education to run Shireland CBSO Academy.
